My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite S55-A5236. I also tried buying an external dvd/cd drive, plugged it in and installed drivers. When I start my computer in safe mode, it works fine. Nothing changed, so I tried going into registry and deleting UpperFilters and LowerFilters, and again restarted. I uninstalled the device(TSSTcorp CDDVDW SU-208BB,) and restarted. I went into Device Manager and found "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. Recently, sometime after getting the free upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, I noticed my DVD/CD drive was no longer being acknowledged by my laptop. Is there anyway to solve this issue and is it related to my wifi drivers?
